We meet together to see if we suit. I'll ask you questions and you ask me questions. Then you go home and decide if you'd like to work with me. If so, you send in a form and I send you a booklet with over 30 pages of ideas for your wedding ceremony. Then the two of you write it together, using my booklet and anything else you like. The only rule is that three people have to believe what is said: both of you and the person speaking.
We'll meet again to work on the ceremony and discuss any issues you have. Usually, a rehearsal is not necessary; a wedding is not a performance. However, sometimes the mother of the bride really really needs a rehearsal. If that's the case, we'll have one. My fees are from $600 - $850, depending on the circumstances.
What if we're not the same religion?
Two people who love each other and have committed to make a life together deserve congratulations and support.
Your union might be inter-cultural or it might be truly inter-faith. Many people of different religious and ethnic backgrounds really do share the same world-view and religious ideals. Others do truly believe really different things. In either case, your wedding can reflect what you have built together and can celebrate both backgrounds. Together, we can construct an wedding ceremony that both of you and your families and friends can feel is inclusive and welcoming. You can still enjoy many ethnic and cultural elements in your ceremony expressed in ways that don't make half the guests feel excluded.
I am willing to participate in a co-officiated ceremony with certain conditions.
Two people who love each other and have committed to make a life together deserve congratulations and support. Your marriage may not be legal, but it is still real.
