Wednesday, September 8: Rosh Hashanah celebration.7 p.m. at the Bothwell Center 2466 8th St. in Livermore. Join us for readings, music, and apples with honey. We encourage you to bring canned or boxed food for the food bank. Free to members. $10/adult (over 13) non-members.

Sunday, September 12: First day of Jewish Culture School and introduction for parents. 10:30 a.m. at the Bothwell Center, 2466 8th St. in Livermore. If you've been thinking about our hands-on non-religious, biweekly Sunday School, please come and explore the possibility of joining us. 510-888-1404.

Wednesday, September 15: Planning meeting.7:00 p.m. at the home of Judith Seid and David Gates. 1817 Sinclair Drive, Pleasanton, all members welcome.

Saturday, September 18: Yom Kippur observance. -5 p.m. at the Bothwell Center 2466 8th St. in Livermore. We have a new format this year, including a short ceremony and a series of workshops for adults and children. The ceremony will include readings, music and a memorial. Adult workshops include discussions of guilt and forgiveness, how to decide what charities to support, and how best to influence social change. We encourage you to bring canned or boxed food for the food bank. Free to members. $10/adult (over 13) non-member.

Sunday, September 26: Sukkah building party. 10 a.m. in San Ramon. (This is a JCS day, but open to all.) Potluck brunch. Bring a dish to share, boxed or canned food for the food bank, and, if you can, a branch and piece of fruit to decorate the sukkah.

Jewish Culture School

Jewish Culture School is a twice-monthly Sunday School for ages 5-14 and focuses on culture and history. We sing, dance, cook, and learn about Jews everywhere in every time. We still have room for more students, and our engaging program ensures that this is a Jewish school your kids will enjoy. We meet twice a month in Pleasanton.
